If you want to create some hip-hop music, then the Drum Pro by StudioLinked is a good starting point. If you need real drum sample sounds, then I’d recommend either the MT Power DrumKit 2 and DrumMic’a! by Sennheiser.

If you want to learn how to produce music at home the right way and without making too many mistakes, then I’d recommend that you read these posts I would highly recommend that you also check out all of the other instruments they have available, which range from guitars, pianos, brass instruments, synths, and more. These samples were recorded at Spitfire HQ back in 2012 by drummer Oliver Waton and engineer Stanley Gabriel and to my ears they sound perfect for something like jazz, light rock music, RnB, etc.

Spitfire Labs has launched its Labs project a few years ago which consists of a number of free sampled instruments that sound absolutely spectacular and I’ve used many of them to produce music at home.

Here’s a table with the Free Drum VSTs that I like the best (I won’t include all of them in the table, so scroll down to see the ones I didn’t include). Luckily, there are many free drum VST plugins available that should get you sounding amazing in no time. Not everyone has the luxury of having a drummer available to record whatever they need 24/7, so making your own drum tracks and getting them to sound good is a great way of doing things.

And if you really want to go nuts (and tax your CPU close to nervous breakdown) create some loops from those mxes and put them in the "performer" to fool around with.Having a good drum sound in your mixes is essential, be it real drums, sampled drums or synth drums. Says : Win / OS - Download MT Power Drum Kit 2 full version - VST 32 / 64 bit The only place that 'Download MT Power Drum Kit 2 full version - VST 32 / 64 bit' shows on that page is for the VST for a Mac (Top right icon under Apple OS). Use the power kit for basic drum track, then use the Omni Sampler in separate tracks to add in additional stuff. Since you're having fun with the MT Power Drum Kit, here's a fun project for you to play with. It's a little faster, but when the drum beats start getting complicated it winds up taking just as long. Thanks anyway.įor simpler tracks (kick snare and h hat) I've just been duplicating the patterns and editing oout individually the drum notes I don't want. then just edit in the keyboard (tiny little monochrome screen view AHHH!) then just route to my VS Mixer Workstation, but this is a bit different. kick from channel 1 to track 1 snare sent from channel two to track two etc. Years back I had a Roland XP Keyboard workstation and I could do this internally on the keyboard (i.e. Some of the others have suggested to just use the midi keyboard window to specify each drum note in a different virtual instrument track. I was hoping that their was a way to speed it up as I play drums so playing the actual riffs works better for me. I am familiar with the "one drum at a time" approach. Thanks John.yep that was what I was hoping to do. If you use lanes to add the different drums one at a time (IE do all the Kick drums first, then the toms, then the snares etc.) then each take will be on a different lane.

If that is the question then I am not sure that there is a way to do this in real time. I notice that although each channel shows up for the purpose of adjusting volume, applying fx etc the actual recording only takes place on the master track - if I am right then what you were asking was if there is a way to have the midi data for each drum recorded on to a different track. I have been playing about with this a bit and I think I might have misunderstood your original question.
